Featured woman of the week: MASHA!!

Updated: Mar 10, 2023

Your Life. Your Path. Your Story

My name is Masha Barmina, and I am a mom, architectural designer, creator, and fashion collector. I joined the group because many of my Russian friends kept telling me about these amazing women for a few years that go on hikes to beautiful places to enjoy their time outdoors and share excellent meals. I was curious and tried one; then, I was hooked.

I love w.o.m.e.n gatherings and sharing experiences with women.

This group provides fantastic opportunities to connect and allows us to carve time for ourselves when most needed in our busy lives.

I have always found great inspiration in nature and its harmony. It never failed me, and I always kept on giving the gifts of abundance and joy. Time stops when we are together, and I feel super rejuvenated after each event. We are very well taken care of by our leader and mother nature.

My favorite part about the gourmet meal is

#1: I don't have to cook

#2: I feel like a queen :)

#3: I enjoy learning about new recipes and soaking in the knowledge of how to eat healthily

Masha and Raquel relaxing on the beach , together enjoying their glass of cava.

I grew up in a very careful protected family; being a single child, my parents always took good care of me, often not allowing me to be and do what kids want.

Later in life, when I moved to the US and was on my own, I started to experience the outdoors. Going on hikes and being in nature became my outlet.

My friends and I made a few pretty challenging trips to Nepal and Australia (Tasmania) areas, hiking in the wilderness and carrying our supplies for a week. I discovered then the growing power of self and that I had the endurance to do more, and perseverance was born!

Staying healthy is now a big goal of mine, and these weekly hikes add a workout to my schedule. I enjoy it immensely.

Masha's tip to you:

"Always bring a good mood (leave the attitude at home), breathe deeply, and soak in nature's gifts. Bring sunscreen, a hat, wet wipes, and snacks. Sounds of nature will heal you and give you the calm and meditation you need. You will find balance and peace when you need it every time!"

Masha fills in the blanks:

I would never go on a hike without bringing my friend and a positive open mind.

Connecting with w.o.m.e.n outdoors means building friendships, feeling powerful, and being connected to nature.

Spending time outdoors with other women has allowed me to breathe, relax, to take time for myself.

From Raquel,

Thank you for your calm, kind presence, unconditional love, and support to the w.o.m.e.n group and for being so much help to me when I need it taking pictures, setting up the food, and more. "Please hold this" (especially when it comes to carrying my camera) are three words I often use and are a fun staple between us during the events. Still, they are kind and used with respect towards my favorite person and assistant during the women's events. Keep being you, keep being active, and keep appreciating the outdoors. I can always count on you.
